Blame One - Chemically Imbalanced (Finally Recognition) Cassette
Chemically Imbalanced captures Blame One during the formative years of his career. For this release we had to dig deep into the archives. Boombap Relickz had to work with reality: passed time, missing pieces and the condition of the audio that survived. Some recordings were simply too far gone and didn’t make the cut. Others have travelled a long road to get here and that history can still be heard in some of the tracks. We wanted to preserve the essence of the original project while building something that felt complete and the result is over 80 minutes of music recorded between 1995 and 2003. Most of the songs come from Chemically Imbalanced (released in 2003 on CD), with additional tracks from Finally EP (released on 12” vinyl and CDr in 2002), Recognition EP (released on CDr in 2001) plus previously unreleased songs and remixes. The tape even includes two extra bonus tracks.
This project became much more personal than initially expected and has been a long time coming. Blame has been going through a rough chapter in his life and thankfully things are moving in a better direction for him now. That makes this feel like a particularly meaningful moment to finally release this piece of his history and celebrate his music!
