“Chemistry Teraqueous” by Usephasan showcases the MC’s early work and is regarded as his debut release, which came out in the late 1990s. The record brings together tight, carefully arranged tracks that oscillate between street beat and conscious rap; the material includes short interludes, instrumental versions, and longer cuts, giving the release a dense, varied structure.

Musically, Usephasan works with urban soundscapes: turntable techniques meet jazzy hip-hop and boom-bap elements. Tracks like “Desert Population” combine exotic guitars with synthesizers and mid-tempo grooves, “Fore the Lov” relies on reverb-drenched instruments and Rhodes-style touches, while the title track “Chemistry Teraqueous” impresses with its sophisticated turntable passages. Instrumentals such as “Bad As Brothers (Instrumental)” and the lo-fi-soaked interlude “Cocoon Room” round out the spectrum, revealing arrangements that shift between groove and melancholy.

The recordings were brought to life with the support of several producers; in addition to Usephasan himself, early sources mention Pomo (Blend Crafters) and Greg F. as contributors. The release attracted attention in the underground scene and paved the way for the later album “Scienc.Esquizit,” highlighting Usephasan’s versatility as a lyricist and interpreter of beats.
