In response to the surge in youth violence, Peace Boston was founded on December 21, 2005 with the first-ever 'Peace In The Streets' vigil to mark the end of Survivors of Homicide Victims Awareness Month. It's purpose was to assist the Louis D. Brown Peace Institute's efforts to move the Boston community from awareness to commitment to action.
